Namora #1

Almost, from the first time I wrote one of these reviews I’ve had customers coming in asking me if they could write one.  Right away, I thought the idea had merit I mean it would be something my customers would enjoy doing, it would mean less work for me and it would provide readers with views other then my own.  Now, while I believe that my reviews are helpful I’m well aware that different people have different taste so occasionally providing readers with a different view has to be even more helpful.  With all that in mind and since it was his birthday yesterday I decided to give subscriber Joe Richey the opportunity to write the first guest review.  So without further delay, take it away Joe.

If I had to describe the Namora one-shot with one word it would be unnecessary.  I think Jeff Parker does a wonderful job with the off-beat cast of Atlas and I very much enjoyed the three part mini featuring Marvel Boy and I also enjoyed this solo adventure featuring Namora, but unless you’re a big Atlas fan you don’t need to read it.  The story has nothing to do with the current series and sheds no new history on Aquaria Nautica Neptunia.  Namora does save a Russian submarine crew from suffocating to death in the briny deep, and there’s a pretty cool monster that she fights, and there is a giant monster head, and really I don’t think there are enough giant monster heads in comics nowadays, but the point is you don’t need to spend your four dollars on this.  If you do, you probably will not hate it, unless you hate super strong super hot blondes in bathing suits and you don’t share my personnel affection for giant monster heads. The point is that it’s good but there’s better stuff you can pick up this week that is also written by Mr. Parker, that’s a hint that you should be reading Thunderbolts.
