FNM Extended Tournament

We are going to start FNM in 2012 with an extended format tournament. This means you can only use cards from Shards of Alara set on up and form the Magic 2010, 2011 and 2012 editions. This format gives you alot more to choose from then standard but you can't go crazy and use just anything. There is a very short ban list for this format so be sure and check that out before you build your deck. The cost for this tournament is $5.00 plus tax and everyone who plays will receive a participation card while supplies last. FNM Onslaught Draft

Once again we will be stepping back in time for our second FNM in 2012. Hero Clix Infinity Gauntlet I

It all begins here, the battle to possess the most powerful weapon in all the Marvel universe, the Infinity Gauntlet. This is the first in a series of tournaments to mark the 10th anniversary of Hero Clix so the prizes will be bigger and better but so will the challenges. This first tournament is a 300 point sealed tournament using the newest Marvel Hero Clix set. Dark Ascension Launch Party

Our second FNM for the month of February will be a Modern tournament. Modern is Magic’s newest format and includes all the sets from Mirrodin up to the present and all the editions from 8th up to the present. That gives you a lot of cards to work with so bring your best deck and be ready to play, have fun and maybe win some prizes. Yu-Gi-Oh Order Of Chaos

The Yu-Gi-Oh sealed tournaments have been so popular that we are going to continue to do one for each new set that comes out. That means that not only will this tournament be a great chance to play, have fun and maybe win some prizes but you’ll also be able to get your hands on some of the best cards from the new Order Of Chaos set. Hero Clix Infinity Gauntlet II

The battle for the most powerful weapon in the entire Marvel universe continues this month with a 600-point modern constructed tournament with at least 300 points of figures coming from the Hulk and/or Superman sets. This is the second in the Infinity Gauntlet series of tournaments so the challenges are greater but so are the rewards. This will also be your only chance to get the Soul Gem for free. You can check out the official Hero Clix website to see which sets are modern and remember the house rule you can have only one of each named figure. Hero Clix Infinity Gauntlet III

The battle for ultimate power in the Marvel universe continues in March. This month we are going to do something different for our third Infinity Gauntlet tournament. We are going to do a 500 point constructed tournament. As always you may have only one of each named figure on your team but you can have as many as you want of any generic figure. You may not have or use any special objects, battlefield conditions or feats. You also may not have or use any figure with a special (white) ability. Avacyn Restored Prerelease

Believe it or not the new Magic set is coming out soon so get your hands on Avacyn Restored before it hits store shelves. This is the last set in the popular Innistrad block and Wizards of the Coast promises that this will be the biggest prerelease ever. This time around not only will everyone who comes get a cool participation card, not only will you be able to win booster packs of the new set but you’ll also be able to get prizes from the mysterious Helvault. Wizards of the Coast expects interest in this prerelease to be so great that spaces will be limited and advance registration is suggested. It looks like I was wrong we do have one more game demo for May, “Tsuro” on Wednesday the 30th at 5pm. In this game 2 to 8 players ages 8 and up take turns placing tiles to move their marker safely around the board but beware other players can lead you in the wrong direction or off the board entirely. Yu-Gi-Oh Epic Dawn Draft

I can’t believe its been almost four months since the last Yu-Gi-Oh tournament it seems as if it was just the other month. Well, since it has been so long we’ll have to make this tournament extra special. With that in mind we are going to do our first ever Yu-Gi-Oh draft tournament. Each player will receive 10 packs of the new Battle Pack: Epic Dawn and from those packs each player will choose 50 cards one card at a time and then from those cards they will construct a 40-card deck. This means that not only will this tournament be a great chance to play, have fun and maybe win some prizes but you’ll also be able to get your hands on some of the best cards in the set. The tournament starts Saturday the 16th at 12 noon. The total cost for the tournament is just the cost of the 10 packs, which is $21.09 tax and all. Board Game Night XV

Our second game demo for June will be “Lunch Money” on Wednesday the 20th at 5pm. In this game for 2 to 4 players ages 12 and up players battle it out on the school playground to see who will be the last kid left standing. In this card game players will use whatever is handy to attack each other and defend themselves. This classic game of playground survival takes about 20 minutes to play. This is the sixth tournament in the Infinity Gauntlet series of tournaments and the only chance to get the Reality Gem for free and maybe win the limited edition Collector figure. Speaking of house rules since we are getting down to the end of the Infinity Gauntlet series we are going to make a change to the house rules for this tournament. This month you will be able to use your Infinity Gauntlet with any of the previous month’s gems. You can’t use this month’s gem. Our final game demo for June will be “Locke & Key” on Wednesday the 27th at 5pm. In this game for 3 to 6 players ages 15 and up based on the popular comic book series the players must meet the challenges of Key House together but only one player can come out on top. You also have to beware of the all-powerful Key Cards that can change the outcome of the game. This card game of bluffing and hand management takes about 30 minutes to play. The battle to possess the most powerful weapon in the entire Marvel universe continues this month with a 300 point sealed event utilizing two of the new Chaos War boosters. Pokemon League XII

The Pokemon league is back in July but due to a scheduling conflict the league will meet on the last Saturday of the month and not the first Saturday as is usually the case. This is an officially sanctioned league and is open to everyone from new players to hardcore veterans. Our first Board Game Night in August will feature “Resident Evil: The Deck Building” on the 1st at 5pm. In this game for 1 to 4 players ages 13 and up, each player gets to take on the role of their favorite character from the popular video game series. You then carefully build your deck of weapons and skills, then when you think you’re ready it’s time to plunge into the mansion and take on the infected. This game takes about 1 to 2 hours to play based on the number of people playing. FNM Standard Tournament

Our first FNM in August will be a Standard tournament. This will be our first Standard tournament since Magic 2013 came out so it will be interesting to see what changes people have made to their decks. The Standard format currently includes all cards printed in the M12 and M13 editions along with all cards printed in the Scars of Mirrodin and Innistrad blocks. There are no ban cards in this format so you don’t have to worry about that just bring your best deck and be here by 7pm. Hero Clix DC Challenge

Since not everyone will qualify to play in the final Infinity Gauntlet tournament this month I thought I would do another tournament that anyone can play in. The build for this tournament will be 500 points you may not use feats, battlefield conditions, event dials or special objects. You may have only one of each named figure on your team unless the figure clearly represents two different characters. You can have as many of any generic figure as you want. Additionally you will only be able to use DC characters in this tournament. You can use figures from any of the DC sets from the original Hypertime right up the new Dark Knight Rises. Yu-Gi-Oh Return Of The Duelist

Its been a while since our last Yu-Gi-Oh tournament so we'll have to make this one extra special. We did a draft for our last Yu-Gi-Oh tournament and it went so well we are going to do another one. This time we will be drafting the new Return Of The Duelist set. Each player will receive six packs of the new set and then each player will choose 54 cards from those packs one at a time. Each player will then build a 40-card main deck with all the remaining cards going into their side or extra deck. This means that not only will this be a great chance to play, have fun and maybe win some cool prizes but you'll also be able to get your hands on some of the best cards from the new set. The tournament starts Saturday the 15th at 12 noon. The total cost for the tournament is just $25.00 even which is less then the regular cost of six packs. Return To Ravnica Prerelease

Once again Magic: The Gathering is going back to the past and revisiting one of its most popular blocks ever with the new Return to Ravnica set. In this pre-release tournament you'll return to the city of guilds and choose which faction you'll fight for. Will you join the Azorius, Izzet, Golgari, Rakdos or the Selesnya guild. Wizards of the Coast expects interest in this pre-release to be at an all time high so advance registration is strongly suggested. The build total for this tournament is 500 points and you may not use any battlefield conditions, event dials, feats, relics, resources or special objects. You can use figures from any set but the standard singleton rules do apply. Animal will receive all regular benefits plus (+1) to all close combat attacks. Monster will receive all regular benefits plus (+1) damage to all attacks. Magic Innistrad Block Draft

Anachronism Tournament

Anachronism Tournament

Magic Conspiracy Draft

The Hundred Years War was the longest and bloodiest war of Europe's Middle Ages. This month you must choose one of Anachronism's European cultures and build your three warrior setups using only cards form your chosen culture. You may not choose the Turkish culture. We've spent most of our time re-fighting the wars of Europe. This month we turn our attention to the far east to fight for control of Japan. Japan's Sengoku period lasted from 1467 to 1615 and during that time one warlord after another tried to secure the title of Shogun. This month you can only use Japanese culture cards to build your three warrior setups. The tournament is on Sunday June 25th starting at 1:30 pm and the winner will not only walk away with one of the rare promo warrior packs but also the title of Shogun of Gotham Comics. This month we'll be re-fighting the war for, the greatest prize in all Asia, control over all of China. China's Warring States period lasted from 475 BC to 221 BC and in the end saw the seven major states turned into one unified empire. This month you can only use Chinese and Mongol culture cards to build your three warrior setups. You must choose one culture or the other you can not use cards from both cultures. This month you must choose either the British side, in which case you can only use cards from Briton and Native American cultures to build your three warrior setups or the American side. If you choose the American side you can only use cards from the French and American Frontiersmen cultures. The tournament is on Sunday October 22nd starting at 1:30 pm and the winner will not only walk away with one of the rare promo warrior packs but they will also be declared either the first President of the United States of America or Briton's first Governor-General of America.
